Our Ethos

Our Ethos

As a school community we are inspired by the parable of the Good Samaritan from the Bible (Luke 10:25-37), where we are encouraged to love one another courageously and with compassion. Through friendship, kindness and thoughtfulness, we will nurture each other to flourish as individuals-spiritually, emotionally, academically and creatively.

Through a rich, creative and inspiring curriculum, we strive to foster a deep love of learning in our children.

With high aspirations for our pupils, we nurture each of them to attain the highest of standards in language, humanities and the sciences, no matter their starting point, enabling them to flourish academically.

Through our deep love of music and the arts, we nurture creativity and spirituality, enabling our children to flourish creatively, spiritually and emotionally.

We have a strong Behaviour Code and high expectations of conduct.  We actively encourage our children to treat each other with mutual respect and kindness.  To help the children to do this we have a 4C Code to guide their behaviour.  Children understand that actions have consequences.

Our 4C code guides our daily actions:

In keeping with the legal requirements put in place by the Department of Education in 2012, we support and teach British values including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.  We are also required to prepare children for life in modern Britain. This framework is now monitored by Ofsted and is required to be present in all aspects of school life.
