Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School

In our school we have the highest expectations for each one of our children. We work to ensure that each child is nurtured to be ambitious, resilient, resourceful, curious and creative, and leaves our school having gained all the important skills and knowledge that will help them become successful in their future life.

Through a rich, creative and inspiring curriculum, we strive to foster a deep love of learning in our children.

With high aspirations for our pupils, we nurture each of them to attain the highest of standards in language, humanities and the sciences, no matter their starting point, enabling them to flourish academically.

Through our deep love of music and the arts, we nurture creativity and spirituality, enabling our children to flourish creatively, spiritually and emotionally.

Our tradition is rooted in the Christian values of the Church of England where kindness, thoughtfulness, compassion, humility and friendship are particularly important. We welcome all children from all backgrounds and traditions who wish to learn in an atmosphere of respect and appreciation. We are a community where learning is celebrated and where both individual and collective achievement is valued.

At the heart of our school is an understanding that all children are able to achieve well if they work hard. We believe that hard work in all areas of school life is necessary if children are to make progress and develop. We educate our children so that they can become confident and considerate young people, ready to take their next steps in learning and life. Our children take pride in our school vision which helps to guide their daily conduct.

We provide a broad and inspiring curriculum for our children. We value and embrace the many different languages spoken in our school and create opportunities whenever possible for children to share aspects of their language and culture with other children in our school.

Our school is fortunate to have strong links with our community. Our Children’s Centre provides services and support for parents and children in our community. We have a dedicated and dynamic Governing Body, drawn from our community, and our parents actively provide practical and financial support for our school. We are well-supported by St Cuthbert’s church which is our school’s church. Volunteers from St Mary the Boltons church help our children to learn to read. We are supported by local Councillors and by the local residents in Earl’s Court Square. Additionally, we benefit from the support of the London Diocesan Board, our local authority, The Thomas Schools' Foundation and our LDBS link schools.

I hope that you will find this website useful, and we look forward to welcoming you when you visit our school and meet our enthusiastic and dedicated learners.
